It really goes without saying that there’s little room for error in healthcare technology. Surescripts and our Network Alliance participants recognize this and are consistently raising the bar for excellence in their technology performance, safety and innovation.

Each year we honor the organizations that are consistently going above and beyond with the prestigious Surescripts White Coat Award, and we are excited to announce the 2025 winners at the Network Alliance Forum this coming September.

This award recognizes the outstanding efforts of our customers in improving e-prescription accuracy, ultimately enhancing patient safety, accelerating time to therapy, and improving overall patient care.

Why E-Prescription Accuracy Matters

Clear and accurate e-prescriptions play a crucial role in the prescribing process for physicians and pharmacists, especially at a scale of over 2.6 billion e-prescriptions processed in 2024.

For more than two decades, Surescripts has worked to refine the e-prescribing process to eliminate confusion, reduce time-consuming phone calls and faxes, and ensure patients receive the medications they need without delay.

And we continue to innovate, advancing our Sig IQ technology, for example, that translates free-text patient directions into a quality-controlled, clinically validated format to protect prescriber intent and patient safety.

These innovations are impactful because our Network Alliance participants are committed to adopting best practices and technology enhancements to further simplify the prescription process, helping patients get the best possible care while supporting prescribers and pharmacists by alleviating burnout from rework and other time-consuming administrative tasks.

Celebrating Excellence

The Surescripts White Coat Award honors those who are moving prescription accuracy and performance forward. Whether it's building more advanced e-prescribing software, resolving performance issues, or enhancing workflows among pharmacists.

The White Coat Award celebrates organizations that are achieving measurable results through innovation. Being recognized with this award instills pride in winning organizations, and inspires trust in technology’s ability to provide quality, safe care for clinicians and their patients.

The Surescripts White Coat Award recognizes excellence in three categories:

  • Highest Performance: Awarded to the best overall performance score across e-prescriptions.
  • RxChange Champion: Awarded to those successfully advancing the RxChange transaction, allowing pharmacies to communicate with prescribers to resolve prescription concerns within their electronic workflow.
  • Innovation: Awarded to those driving performance optimization across the healthcare continuum, ensuring prescribers and pharmacists can provide quality care to patients in a timely manner.
